Hello there,
My Sony VPL CS5 fell on its front side -where the image/light/circle part is.
The light and power still come on but I get just some gray lines.
Anybody have any ideas if I opened it up what I might look for. Perhaps
something just needs reattaching.
My wife and I took a latop entirely apart and put it back together and we are feeling lucky.
The projector is 7+ years old and we can't afford the repair shops charge for just looking at it let alone repairing.
Thanks,
Al |

Hey guys, I need help with my Sony VPL-CS5 Projector. My projector worked great until one day when a strange blue pattern showed up on the screen. Its pretty hard to describe it so I´ll past a picture in hope that someone can explaine to me what that is and what I need to do to get rid of it. Do I need to replace the lamp or is it something els?
Tnx in advance

Hi all,
I'm about to purchase a Sony VPL-CS5 projector from a guy. I'll get it cheap since the lamp is broken. According to the seller, it's broke due to the fact that he let an external timer turn the projector off and by doing so didn't let it have its necessary cooling off time. The thing is I'm a complete newbie when it comes to projectors, and my question is: can something else happen when you do this, like things melt or something else break, or can I be almost certain that the lamp is the only problem? I know the price of these lamps, so even if the projector is cheap it will cost me some money, and I don't want to end up with a projector that doesn't work, new lamp and all...
Can someone give me their thoughts upon this?
Thanks
