I recently purchased a used infocus LP500. I want to use this for a home theatre. I have an elite screen M100UHW 100" (16:9). Viewing size 49"H x 87"W, screen size 54"H x 89"W. I want to mount the projector from the ceiling. I cannot get the projector picture to fit the total viewing (white area) of the screen. At 12.5' I am getting most of the picture to fit, but still have about 8" on both sides not filled. How many feet from the screen should I mount the projector? I am also getting a very dim light from the projector beyond the screeen. I do not have a manual to the projector and I have also tried to adjust the keystone to fit the screen, but then I overlap the picture beyond the white part of the screen.(top and bottom) Any help would be greatly appreciated. It is very frustrating, as I am new to projectors.

I have been running my projector through a laptop, making the image available on both monitor and projection screen. I need to change the system to a desktop hookup, but in doing so, I lose my monitor image. InFocus tells me I have to buy a $200 distribution amplifier. I will not be running over a distance; only 3-4 feet. Is there any reason why I can't use a video splitter without amplification?? Money is tight im my lab!

Greetings! This is my first post, and my first adventure into the world of projection... so bear with me. My question is simple. My LP500 has the capability to do HD, and I want to utilize that. My input connections are a DVI and an S-video. I want to be able to plug in component video, as that is what my output device has. I found this...
This has the component inputs on it, and connects to only the DVI port. So I know it is possible to adapt the DVI. The problem is that they want $200 for it on ebay! My question is this... will a standard DVI to component video adapter (such as the ones supplied with ATI video cards) work to go from component into DVI? If not, is there another adapter that will work? Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

I have had this projector for awhile. It has less then 250 Hours on the bulb.
I was on my computer and went out side for a moment. When I came back in the picture was nearly gone. The whole picture was there but all the light was projected up towards the ceiling. The projector was mounted on the ceiling.
I took the projector apart to see if I could find anything out of place. Nothing... Took the lens apart, and still nothing.
I put it back together but yet it still does the same thing.
Here are some pictures. Its just sitting on my bed right here.
Anything would help. Has anyone had this problem before?
This has no Warranty or els i would have sent it in.
