The lamp will never cause any color problems, only overall reduced brightness /contrast. It would help if we saw an image, but it sounds like you have either a burned polarizer or an LCD panel going bad. A burned polarizer would be fairly easy to replace IF it were available. I don't see listing for those parts from my supplier. An LCD panel going bad is going to be too expensive a repair to consider. The entire optical block would have to be replaced, and for that cost, you can buy a new projector.
Hey do you know where i can buy replacement polarizes besides from the manufacture. I contacted them and they said it would be around $100 to buy a new one. Ne place where i can get it for cheaper? I have a sony vpl-px15.

Topic:   Interesting Situation

I have a interesting situation where I work. I have the option to take home a projector or 2 and bulbs for them that have only been used about 500-800 hours. This is a cool thing since I can now set up a small projector room (i know business projectors are not ideal, but you can't beat free). My qustion is... the projector I get now has a broken LCD panel and the images are all really green. I have just started recently repairing my own projectors and was wondering if there was a place to get this part for cheap. It is possible I may get another one of these soon, but just curious. Thanks! -Joe

Topic:   Remote control for the Sony VPL-PX15

I have a Sony VPL-PX15 bought used. It has been running great but it did not come with a remote control. Now, Sony seems to think I should shell out over $100 for one of their replacement remote controls, but I am thinking why spend that kind of money only to get a SIXTH remote control? Why not get a learning all-in-one remote (see here for one in particular: http://www.smarthome.com/8024.html ) that can also control my Sony VPL-PX15? But here is the question: which of the millions of all-in-one remotes will work with it? Has anyone had any luck programming an all-in-one remote for use on the PX15? Thanks in advance....

Topic:   Remote for Sony VPL-PX15?

I bought a Sony VPL-PX15 off of Craigslist, works great but has no remote. Where can I get a remote? I have called a number of dealers but they do not have it since the projector is out of production. Are there Universal Remotes out there that I can use?
