Instead of starting a new thread, I did a search for my problem and found this which appears to be EXACTLY the same problem I have.
[Is there a service manual online I could reference?]
I recently aquired this faulty LP530 described as LAMP NOT WORKING but when I first plugged it in it worked fine and I was quite impressed with the picture quality and brightness.
Running through the menus, checking it all out I noticed the LAMP LIFE status was just a mere 13 hours which suggested it's got an electronic intermittent fault elswhere.
True enough, the next time I powered it up the lamp did not light and after several minutes the LED was flashing orange.
On consequent startups it occasionally works and mostly doesn't. No rhyme or reason that I can tell.
Is it possible to trace the fault as I don't mind spending a little bit of money getting this otherwise good condition projector working reliably again, considering the price of them (and especially if the lamp is practically new) but I wouldn't like to replace an inherently poor quality ballast with another, as suggest above. Is an upgrade possible or am I just dreaming and should consign it to the bin, perhaps selling off the bulb?
Thanks for reading this. |
