Topic:   Alignment Problem with Philips 32PF7320A
The repair order said "SSB Replaced". Small Signal Board? They said that they had not seen this sort of failure before ...
They are famous for saying "I've never seen this sort of failure before." I have the same problem with my "Factory Renewed" Philips 32PF7320A. Unfortunately, mine failed two weeks out of the 90-day warranty period. (It started acting up when I attempted to use a CableCARD but the Philips CS rep convinced me it was the card's problem and not the TV. He also didn't give me a ref. number for that call, placed within the warranty period. I will need to pay for the replacement of the small signal board which will make my $799 deal from the Philips outlet moot. The CS rep even had the nerve to say, "The good thing is that you don't have to ship it to a Philips Authorized Service Center. You can get it fixed anywhere." I said that the bad thing is that I have to pay for it. Wish I had done my usual research before buying a Philips product. When you google "Philips Authorized Service" you get message after message of nightmarish encounters with philips and their products. Live and learn. I bought it on impulse after being lured by the low price. I've also never had any problems with buying refurbished (Apple) products. Apple, it seems, fixes things and cleans up the scratches and dings before selling it again. Philips just puts their non-working returns back up for sale.
