Hi all!
I was recently given a sanyo projector (plc xp21n) which I guess could be considered obsolete by modern standards. It was given to us by a university and the lamp is almost new. We would like to use it
for a few demonstrations in our astronomy club.
I just don't know how to make it work.
Do I have to download special drivers from the internet?
I purchased a male-male 15 pin cable that fits into the projector and into my laptop. The laptop doesn't seem to see it.
I guess what I would need would be an owners manual.
Is there a special software that must be used with it?
Any help appreciated.

Most projectors need inside cleaning to keep lint, etc from LCD Panels? Especially my model shown. IF not cleaned, lint will burn into LCD Panels, and they will need to be replaced, and they are very expensive. I keep my dusted and vacuumed and filter wash out and cleaned very very often, and I dont really have unit in use that much, but still get dust on LCD Panels, since they are not encased. It seems like everytime I change my Bulb this happens. Does anyone have any recommendations on self cleaning and vacuuming to really get dust or lint out and any outside stores that they recommend and are reasonable in price to clean units??I wrote this topic before, but havent been on here in awhile, and could not find topic. Any help is appreciated. Paul |

I acknowledge that lumens are to video as watts are to audio amplifiers: they are all skewed by the manufacturer and reviewers to such point as to be worthless. My current projector (Sanyo XP21N) is rated at 2400 lumens. I'm thinking about replacing it with an Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 1080 rated at 1200 lumens. Even though both numbers are exaggerated, won't the new Epson be half as bright as the old Sanyo? |

I have my Sanyo mounted below ceiling and the fan from unit is loud. I read somewhere you can us some type of sound dampening to correct this. Anyone know what this would be or what can be done around the unit to correct some of the sound??Paul |

Hello everyone,
Glad to see this site progressing onto a more user oriented format. I'm sure there will be lots to discuss and share amongnst each other.
I'd like to pose a question to those PLC XP21N owners out there. I recently installed my 3rd lamp OUCH! (we watch a LOT of movies). However, I have yet to discover how the Lamp Life feature works. I've reset the clock for each lamp, but cannot find the dial (so to speak) that tells me how many hours I have or had put on the lamp. Any ideas? |
